    The Russian Academy of Arts, "ARS LONGA" Gallery Andrey Pakhomov (drawing, painting) 20 June - 15 July 2008


    Andrey Pakhomov is an academic of The Russian Academy of Arts; he is an honoured artist of the Russian Federation. Pakhomov was born in 1997. He graduated from the Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture named by Repin, as graphic artist.
    Since 1966 he is a member of over 150 arts expositions at home and abroad. He illustrated about 30 Russian and foreign editions. He leads his private workshop of graphic books at the St. Petersburg State Institute of Arts named by Repin.
    His works were rewarded. The masterpieces of the artist are kept in The State Hermitage Museum, The State Russian Museum, The Museum of The Russian Academy of Arts, British Museum (England), The Victoria and Albert Museum (England), Cabinets of engraving in Berlin and Dresden (Germany), The "Albertina" Museum (Austria), Mus?e d'Art Moderne (Paris, France) and many private collections in Russia and abroad.
    Andrey Pakhomov's father Aleksey Pakhomov is a classic of Russian Arts. He is a painter, graphic and book illustrator. For Andrey Pakhomov it was hard to exist not destroying his father.
    Andrey Pakhomov is a famous modern painter who is incomparable nowadays. The details of his works are based on museum achievements, such as antique glyptics, painted ceramics, and "barbarous" Scythian plastic arts.
    Examining poses of sitting and lying bodies it feels like a free fall which never happens to any of us.
    The exhibited works have been created within 15 years such as painting, graphics, and handmade books.
    For the first time ever in Moscow will be shown illustrated handmade books, such as: "Ten Poems" Sappho (released in single copy), "Twelve Lyrics" Anacreon (12 ex.), "Verses" Philodemus (9 ex.), "Ten Words, or The Song of Love" in association with an artist Pan Shiksun (3 ex.).
